Scalar
A single ordinary number, as opposed to a vector or a matrix.
Multiplying a vector by an ordinary number (mathematicians call it a scalar) multiplies every number inside it. Double a budget split
[300, 100]across two channels and you get[600, 200]. Each channel doubles; the split between them stays the same.
