Quadrant
One of the four regions that a chart's two axes split the page into, depending on whether x and y are positive or negative.
Try it now
The curve is y = m × x + b drawn across the whole x range. Change m to tilt it, and b to slide it up and down.

Coordinates, slopes and reading a chart · Points on all four sides of zero, slope as rise over run, y = m × x + b, and honest charts. About 25 minutes.
Other terms from the same lesson
- intercept: In a straight-line model, the prediction when every feature is 0: where the line crosses the vertical axis.
- slope: How steep a line or curve is: how much it goes up for each step across.
