One dot of an image. In a color image it holds three numbers: how much red, green and blue light it shows.

Start with the tent's orange (230, 120, 40) and brighten by 40: as uint8 the red value wraps around to 14, so bright red turns almost black. Clipping stops at 255 instead. Then try pure green against pure blue to see how different their grays are.
