LLM

Also written: LLMs, large language model, large language models

A large language model: a program trained on huge amounts of text to predict the next word, which lets it write, answer and reason.

Your phone's keyboard suggests the next word as you type. A large language model (LLM) does the same job at an enormous scale. You give it some text. It works out how likely each possible next piece of text is.

Try it now

Watch the text grow by one word per pass. Each pass looks up the options for the last word, keeps the one with the highest probability and adds it to the end. It stops when "<end>" wins.
